FORNEY, Texas — Firefighters extinguished an SUV and grass fire on Interstate 20 Sunday afternoon.
The Forney Fire Department was dispatched to westbound Interstate 20 just west of Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 at approximately 7:50 p.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters reported the SUV was fully engulfed in flames and the surrounding grass had also caught on fire.
The SUV was able to stop on the shoulder of the highway and all occupants were able to exit and escape any injury.
A wrecker was requested for the vehicle.
