Firefighters respond to multiple grass fires along Interstate 20

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters from Forney and Terrell responded to 11 separate grass fires along Interstate 20 on Sunday afternoon.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters from Forney and Terrell responded to 11 separate grass fires along Interstate 20 on Sunday afternoon.

The fires began just after 4:30 p.m. and were likely caused by sparks coming from a trailer which was being pulled westbound on Interstate 20, according to police. The fires stretched from Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 in Terrell to FM 1641 in Talty.

The fires, which caused low visibility for westbound drivers, were extinguished just after 5 p.m.
