Flash Flood Warning for Kaufman County, Flood Warning continued for Trinity River near Rosser

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kaufman County and extended an already issued Flood Warning for the Trinity River for southern portions of the county.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kaufman County and extended an already issued Flood Warning for the Trinity River for southern portions of the county.

The Flash Flood Watch was issued at 11:13 p.m. Tuesday and is in effect until 2:15 a.m. Wednesday.

“Slow moving thunderstorms were producing very heavy rainfalls across southern parts of Kaufman [County],” the NWS stated.

Flooding was also reported on State Highway (SH) 34 north of U.S. Highway 175 in Kaufman, Texas.

The NWS also extended a Flood Warning for the Trinity River near Rosser, Texas, in southern Kaufman County and portions of Ellis County. Flood stage in the area is 31 feet. At 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the stage was measured at 37.27 feet.

Moderate flooding is occurring in the area and moderate flooding is forecast, according to the NWS.

“The river will have an extended crest near 37.5 feet through Wednesday night before receding Thursday,” stated the NWS. “The river should fall below flood stage Saturday afternoon.”
