KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kaufman County and surrounding areas for Monday morning, October 6, 2014, until 7:45 a.m.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kaufman County and surrounding areas for Monday morning, October 6, 2014, until 7:45 a.m.
National Weather Service meteorologists detected thunderstorms with heavy rainfall three miles south of Garland, Texas, which were moving southeast at 15 miles per hour. Radar indicated three to four inches of rain has already fallen over the area and measured rates of three inches of rainfall per hour which would result in flash flooding with any additional raining, according to the National Weather Service.
Additionally, a Sever Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 7 a.m. This storm is capable or producing ping pong size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour.
Locations that will continue to be affected by heavy rain include Forney, Kaufman, Terrell, Crandall, Combine, Seagoville, Fate, Heath, Sunnyvale, Balch Springs, Rockwall, Mesquite, and Rowlett.
