KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flood Advisory for Kaufman County due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday night and several roads were reported closed due to high water.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Flood Advisory for Kaufman County due to heavy rainfall on Tuesday night and several roads were reported closed due to high water.
The Flood Advisory is in effect until 10:30 p.m.
“At 7:28 p.m., doppler radar indicated thunderstorms that were producing heavy rainfall along the Trinity River basin southeast of Dallas,” stated the NWS. “Excessive runoff from these thunderstorms will cause minor flooding.”
“Some low water crossings in the region mat become impassable,” stated the NWS.
At 8:15 p.m., the Kaufman Fire Department reported the 1800 block of South Washington Street was closed due to high water.
Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie says several roads are closed due to high water across the county. Those roads are County Road 4077, 16900 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 148, and Dawson and Harlan Roads in Combine, Texas.
No evacuations have been ordered at this time.
