KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Former longtime Kaufman County 86th District Court Judge Howard Tygrett passed away this morning, November 18, 2015.
Tygrett served as the 86th District Court Judge in Kaufman County for 12 years and was first elected to the 86th District Court in 2002, having defeated Bill Conradt in the election. Tygrett went unopposed in 2006 and again in the 2010 generals after a primary victory and did not seek re-election in 2014 — retiring December 31, 2014.
Funeral service for Tygrett, who was a Terrell, Texas, resident, will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard in Terrell.
Friends, family members, and colleagues remembered Tyrgett as a “good man” and a “dedicated public servant” with a “great sense of humor.”
