FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department extinguished a fire Tuesday afternoon on a large “earth mover” tractor.
The tractor, a wheel tractor scraper more commonly known as an earth mover, was moving dirt to prepare for a new phase in the master-planned community of Devonshire, north of Forney on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548, when it caught on fire.
Forney Fire Department’s Engine 1 and Rescue 1 responded to the fire at approximately 4:47 p.m. Only the rescue truck had access to the tractor because it was out in an undeveloped portion of Devonshire without traditional road access.
The cause of the fire is unknown. No injuries or property damage was reported.
