KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The Forney Fire Department extinguished a truck fire on County Road (CR) 214 moments ago.
A woman reported her truck caught on fire at approximately 4:45 p.m. near Farm-to-Market 2932. When firefighters arrived on scene, the fire already consumed the engine bay and the cab of the truck.
The fire also spread to grass on the north side of CR 214 before being contained at approximately 5:03 p.m. The fire threatened nearby utility poles. Smoke from the fire was visible from Forney.
The driver of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle safely. No injuries were reported.
An investigator with the Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office was on scene to determine the cause of the fire which appeared to start in the engine bay.
