FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department is seeking volunteers and is accepting applications for the position.
The fire department will be accepting applications until 5 p.m. on March 2, 2015. Applications and other information can be downloaded from the City of Forney's website, here, or picked up at City Hall. Applications should be returned to the station located at 104 East Aimee Street behind the Forney Post Office.
“This unique opportunity for those qualified, is a way to give back to the community and experience the rewards of working in a great team environment,” read a statement from the Forney Fire Department. “The volunteer firefighter has played a critical role not only in the history of America, but the City of Forney as well.”
Currently, the City of Forney consists of 35 volunteer firefighters and 24 paid firefighters.
