FORNEY, Texas — A Forney home was destroyed in an overnight fire which saw a response from several area fire departments.
The fire was reported at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Rosewood Lane in Forney — between Heritage Hill Drive and Ponderosa Drive.
Firefighters from the Forney Fire Department, Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Terrell Fire Department, Sunnyvale Fire Department, and the Mesquite Fire Department responded to the fire.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire, according to fire officials. The American Red Cross is on scene to assist the residents and for firefighter rehab.
This is the second Forney home destroyed by fire on Thursday. Firefighters responded to a fire on Azalea Drive at approximately 1 p.m.
