The crash was reported at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 just north of U.S. Highway 80 near the Murphy’s gas station.

The wreck involved a sedan and a passenger van — both of which sustained heavy front-end damage.

A child in one of the vehicles was transported by ground ambulance to the helipad at Lake Pointe hospital in Forney where a CareFlite medical helicopter transported the child to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, according to Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend.
