FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Police Department is investigating the death of a young child, a department spokesperson confirmed to inForney.com early Friday morning.
Police initially responded to a home in the 300 block of South Chestnut Street near downtown Forney for a child, approximately three years old, who was unresponsive, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night. The child was later transported to Lake Pointe Medical Center in Forney, Texas.
The Forney Police Department would only confirm an “active investigation” overnight until detectives cleared the scene at approximately 4 a.m. when they said they don't suspect any foul play.
Police secured a search warrant for the home early Friday morning and wrapped the home in crime scene tape. The Texas Rangers were called in to assist the Forney Police Department with the investigation. Police are waiting the results of an autopsy report which could be completed as early as tomorrow.
