FORNEY, Texas — Helms Trail is closed in both directions at County Road 212 due to an 18-wheeler mishap. The road remains closed to north and south traffic as of 7:15 p.m.
FORNEY, Texas — Helms Trail is closed in both directions at County Road 212 due to an 18-wheeler mishap. The road remains closed to north and south traffic as of 7:15 p.m.
An 18-wheeler traveling eastbound on CR 212 was turning southbound on Helms Trail, cut the corner short, and its rear axles slid into the ditch — causing the trailer to lean sideways.
CR 212 traffic to northbound Helms Trail was open to through traffic until a heavy-duty wrecker arrived on scene at 7:40 p.m. The 18-wheeler's trailer was removed from the ditch at 9:45 p.m. and one lane was opened.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is now on scene.
