KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Monday’s severe thunderstorms produced flooding conditions across Kaufman County — resulting in high-water rescues and voluntary evacuations.
The thunderstorms swept across North Texas accompanied by National Weather Service flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings.
The College Mound Volunteer Fire Department initiated voluntary evacuations for residents on Hickory Tree Lane and Creek Crossing Trial in eastern Kaufman County due to flooding concerns.
The Terrell Fire Department and Terrell Volunteer Fire Department responded to two high-water rescues Monday located at the intersection of State Highway 34 and East High Street and the intersection of North Catherine Drive and East Alamo Street. No injuries were reported.
The Elmo Volunteer Fire Department cleared several downed trees from county roads including County Road 313 where four trees were cleared from the road.
Several accidents were reported throughout the county including a rollover crash near U.S. Highway 80 and Spur 557.
