MABANK, Texas — The House of Isaiah, a faith-based drug and alcohol recovery facility founded by former Los Angeles Ram’s linebacker Isiah Robertson in 1989, has been closed due to a New Year’s Eve electrical fire.
MABANK, Texas — The House of Isaiah, a faith-based drug and alcohol recovery facility founded by former Los Angeles Ram’s linebacker Isiah Robertson in 1989, has been closed due to a New Year’s Eve electrical fire.
Just before 6 p.m., on December 31, 2014, firefighters responded to the facility on County Road 4011 near its intersection with Farm-to-Market 90 and 1391 — north of Mabank, Texas, in Kaufman County.
“The fire started in the main electrical service,” Kaufman County Fire Marshal Randy Richards told inForney.com. Only minor structural and fire damage was reported but, the facility, according to Richards, sustained “considerable electrical damage.”
“The facility will remain closed until significant electrical repairs are made and final inspection is passed,” said Richards.
In total, 10 residents were displaced, according to officials. Residents were transferred to different facilities or local motels.
