KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Extension Agent Ralph S. Davis recently received the 2015 Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agriculture Agents.
Davis, who has served as the County Extension Agent in Kaufman County for the past 15 years, received the award while attending the National Association of County Agriculture Agents’ (NACAA) Annual Meeting and Professional Improvement Conference in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
“This award is given to Agents with more than 10 years of service in Cooperative Extension and have exhibited excellence in the field of Extension Education,” according to NACAA National Chair Stephen E. Hadcock. “This award is only presented to 2% of the County Extension Educators in Texas each year.”
“Ralph is extremely proud of the volunteers who assist him in planning, initiating and evaluating quality, relevant programs for the county,” stated Hadcock.
Davis previously served as an extension agent in Louisiana for six years before his move to Kaufman, Texas, with his wife Sharlie. Davis attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, where he received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees.
Davis was also honored at the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association convention in Corpus Christi, Texas.
