KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters from Forney, Terrell, and College Mound have begun coordinating a response to Rowlett, Texas, to assist in tornado recovery efforts, according to county officials.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters from Forney, Terrell, and College Mound have begun coordinating a response to Rowlett, Texas, to assist in tornado recovery efforts, according to county officials.
Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend said the department is coordinating and preparing to dispatch a team to Rowlett to assist in tornado recovery efforts.
Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie says the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department and the College Mound Volunteer Fire Department is also coordinating teams to respond to Rowlett with additional teams possibly needed in the Glenn Heights and Ovilla areas of Ellis County.
Howie says, as of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, no tornadoes had been confirmed in Kaufman County in light of several tornado warned storm cells passing through the county. No damage was reported.
