KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — An eastern Kaufman County home was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday night, February 18, 2015.
The fire was reported just before 6 p.m. on County Road 316B just east of Elmo, Texas, and south of U.S. Highway 80. Upon arrival, firefighters reported the structure was fully involved in flames an already burned to the ground. A vehicle parked next to the home was also destroyed in the fire.
The home was abandoned at the time of the fire and without utilities. As of 6:40 p.m., firefighters remain on scene in the mop-up stages of the fire.
The Elmo Volunteer Fire Department, Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Able Springs Volunteer Fire Department, College Mound Fire Department responded to the fire.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office is on scene handling the fire investigation.
