The fire was reported just before 10:45 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2015, in the 1200 block of County Road 139 — which connects State Highway 34 and Farm-to-Market 2728 near Oak Ridge. The College Mound Volunteer Fire Department responded to the burning double-wide mobile home and requested mutual aid from the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department and the Kaufman Fire Department.

“The house sustained substantial fire damage,” Kaufman County Deputy Fire Marshal Chad Woosley told inForney.com. A portion of the roof near the middle of the house was also completely destroyed.

Fire investigators said the two residents weren’t home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate the fire overnight.
