KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood issued a disaster declaration for Kaufman County due to recent heavy rainfall, flooding, and the prospects of continued flooding, according to Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood issued a disaster declaration for Kaufman County due to recent heavy rainfall, flooding, and the prospects of continued flooding, according to Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie.
The declaration, issued earlier today, December 2, 2015, will allow the county to receive state and federal monies, if made available, to assist in repairing damaged property in Kaufman County caused by the recent storms.
“With this declaration and request for state assistance Kaufman County will be joining other counties in requesting Governor Abbott to issue a State Disaster Declaration,” stated Howie.
