KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood issued a disaster declaration for Kaufman County due to recent severe storms, flooding, and the potential for additional flooding in the coming days, according to the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood issued a disaster declaration for Kaufman County due to recent severe storms, flooding, and the potential for additional flooding in the coming days, according to the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management.
The declaration, issued earlier today, May 27, 2015, will allow the county to receive state and federal monies, if made available, to assist in repairing damaged property in Kaufman County caused by the recent storms.
A major priority for the county is repairs to county roads, Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Steve Howie told inForney.com. Damage was also reported to area homes due to flood waters and high winds including damage to several stores at the Tanger Outlet Center in Terrell, Texas.
Commissioners may vote on an extended declaration in upcoming meetings.
