KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Kaufman County man was killed as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on I-20 in eastern Kaufman County Monday morning, October 20, 2014.
27-year-old Morgan Turner was traveling eastbound on I-20 when he attempted to exit at Hiram Road near mile marker 509 in front of the McDonald’s Truck Stop at approximately 5:30 a.m. Monday.
Turner lost control of his motorcycle while passing a vehicle on the shoulder and was thrown from the motorcycle, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Kyle Bradford told inForney.com.
Turner was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and sustained head injuries, Bradford stated. He was taken by a CareFlite medical helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Turner was pronounced deceased Tuesday morning at approximately 8 a.m. as a result of his injuries sustained in the motorcycle accident.
The Elmo Volunteer Fire Department responded to the accident. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
