KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Tornado Watch for most of North Texas including Kaufman County on Friday afternoon.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas, issued a Tornado Watch for most of North Texas including Kaufman County on Friday afternoon.
In addition to the Tornado Watch, which is in effect until 10 p.m., Kaufman County will be under a Flash Flood Watch until 7 p.m.
“A dry line will approach the region from the west during the afternoon,” the NWS stated earlier today. “The storms that develop along the dry line have a potential to become severe with large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.”
The Tornado Watch is also in effect for the following counties: Anderson, Bell, Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Coryell, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Eastland, Ellis, Erath, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Henderson, Hill, Hood, Hopkins, Hunt, Jack, Johnson, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan, Mills, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rains, Rockwall, Somervell, Stephens, Tarrant, Van Zandt, Wise, and Young.
“Because severe storms could impact you, today is a day you should closely monitor weather information to stay informed and stay safe,” stated the NWS.
