KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A Kemp man was killed in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Fathers’ Day in southeastern Kaufman County.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:26 p.m. on County Road (CR) 4019 which is located southeast of Kemp, Texas, and north of Mabank, Texas.
30-year-old Richard Granger of Kemp, Texas, was traveling westbound on CR 4019 at a high rate of speed, Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Trooper Kyle Bradford told inForney.com.
Granger crossed over the center of the road and struck another vehicle head on, according to Bradford, which resulted in Granger’s vehicle overturning and landing on its roof. Granger was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle Granger struck sustained injuries, stated Bradford.
The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash. The Kemp Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash.
