FORNEY, Texas — Several local business, Forney Independent School District student organizations, local government, and various non-profit organizations have come together to create a toy drive for local kids — the 2014 Toys for Forney Kids drive.
FORNEY, Texas — Several local business, Forney Independent School District student organizations, local government, and various non-profit organizations have come together to create a toy drive for local kids — the 2014 Toys for Forney Kids drive.
Among those participating are the Forney Fire Department, Forney Public Works Department, Forney Independent School District Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, student councils from North Forney High School and Forney High School, the Forney Rotary Club, and Forney Lions Club.
In years past, the groups had separately donated toys to the Toys for Tots organization but have decided to collectively begin a local toy drive to benefit children in Forney.
The toys collected through a series of drives will be distributed by the Forney Rotary Club and the Forney Lions Club — which have identified over 300 children to benefit from this year’s drive.

"We anticipate having lots of extra toys available to donate to other area civic groups when the toy drive is over this year. Our goal is to see that all of the children in our community have their needs met this Christmas" stated Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend.
