Police believe 15-year-old Gavin Lane Gonzalez and his girlfriend, 17-year-old Jacqueline Celeste Vega, were headed to a relative’s home in El Paso, Texas, from Terrell, Texas. The couple was located in Terrell, Texas, on Wednesday.

Gonzalez was dropped off at Terrell High School Tuesday morning and failed to return home after school. The couple was seen getting into a car with friends at Cowboy’s, located at 220 East Moore Avenue in Terrell, at approximately 8 a.m. on Tuesday and were last seen together at approximately 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of State Highway (SH) 34 in Terrell.

“At this time, it is believed that the two are together, voluntarily absent, and no foul play is suspected,” said Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom in a Tuesday morning release. Police investigated leads including bus ticket purchases and stops between Terrell and the possible destination of El Paso.

Gonzalez and Vega reportedly do not have cell phones.
