FORNEY, Texas – Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 drivers experienced major delays east of Farm-to-Market (FM) 460 due to an 18-wheeler tractor accident at approximately 3:22 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The 18-wheeler tractor was reportedly hauling another 18-wheeler tractor when the driver lost the load, forcing the driver to stop in the left lane of U.S. Highway 80. The tractor being hauled had visible damage to the right side rear tires and shifted off the left side of the towing tractor – caused by impact with a bridge guardrail.

The impact caused a fuel spill and the closure of the left lane of eastbound U.S. Highway 80 until 7:19 p.m. while HAZMAT crews cleaned the spill. No injuries were reported in the accident.

A heavy-duty wrecker removed one of the 18-wheeler tractors, the other drove from the scene but required some dis-assembly to remove the tractor it was hauling.
