Man airlifted after rollover crash, extrication

SCURRY, Texas — A man was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital after a rollover crash on Farm-To-Market (FM) 148 in Scurry overnight.

SCURRY, Texas — A man was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital after a rollover crash on Farm-To-Market (FM) 148 in Scurry overnight.

The crash was reported at approximately midnight on FM 148 near Page Lane. A vehicle was traveling southbound on FM 148 when it failed to maneuver a curve in the road — striking a culvert, fence, and overturning several times into a pasture.

The car traveled approximately 100 yards through the pasture before coming to a rest on its roof. A nearby resident heard the crash, called 911, and rushed to help the driver who had become entrapped in the vehicle.

Firefighters extricated the man and transported him by CareFlite ambulance to nearby Scurry-Rosser Elementary School where a CareFlite helicopter further transported the man to Methodist Dallas Medical Center in unknown condition.

The Scurry Volunteer Fire Department, a CareFlite ambulance and helicopter, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
