Man falls from roof in Devonshire neighborhood, airlifted

FORNEY, Texas — A man was airlifted after falling from a roof in the Devonshire neighborhood of Forney on Tuesday afternoon.

FORNEY, Texas — A man was airlifted after falling from a roof in the Devonshire neighborhood of Forney on Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 4 p.m., the Forney Fire Department responded to the Highgate Road in Devonshire for a construction worker who fell approximately 15 to 20 feet from a home which was under construction, according to Forney Fire Department Captain Phillip Pyle.

The man suffered head and back injuries and was taken to the North Forney High School parking lot by ambulance where a CareFlite helicopter flew the man to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, in stable condition.

This is the second fall injury suffered in the Kaufman County area today. In Heartland, a homeowner fell through his ceiling and was flown to Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
