FORNEY, Texas — A man was injured after he struck an electrical pole on Windy Lane Tuesday afternoon which resulted in nearby power outages.
The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. in the 12000 block of Windy Lane near Old Military Trail. The vehicle was traveling southbound when it left the road, struck a culvert, and then struck the electrical pole.
The man was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
The force of the impact broke the electrical pole. Initially, Trinity Valley Electric Co-op (TVEC) reported approximately 430 were without power due to the accident. Some services have since been restored as of 2:20 p.m., according to a statement from TVEC. The pole replacement and full restoration could take three hours.
