MABANK, Texas — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after another vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way, the Mabank Police Department stated.

MABANK, Texas — A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after another vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way, the Mabank Police Department stated.

The accident occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at approximately 1:46 p.m., Mabank Interim Police Chief Keith Bradshaw told inForney.com. 32-year-old Richard Davey, an area resident, was driving his motorcycle north on North 3rd Street, also known as Texas Highway 198, when a vehicle on East Jeter Street failed to yield to the right-of-way — resulting in the accident.

Davey was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by Kaufman County Justice of the Peace Patricia Ashcroft.

The Mabank Police Department is continuing to investigate the accident.

The driver of the vehicle which struck Davey was a minor driving with a valid learner’s permit with an adult passenger. No charges had been filed against the driver as of Friday morning.

A Go Fund Me account was established to assist Davey’s family with funeral expenses. Davey leaves behind a wife and two young boys, according to the page.

The Mabank Fire Department and CareFlite also responded.
