Seagoville Police Department Chief Ray Calverley tells inForney.com a man drove around barricades on East Malloy Bridge Road in between Seagoville and Forney and was swept away in his truck by flood waters.
A Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter located the truck and the man clinging to a nearby tree. A Dallas-Fire Rescue swift water rescue team was able to rescue the man who was transported to an area hospital for precautionary measures.
No one else was in the truck, according to Calverley.
Calverley says a witness saw the man drive around the barricades on East Malloy Bridge Road which is typically closed during heavy rainfall and flood events. The man will likely face charges for disregarding barricades, stated Calverley.
