FORNEY, Texas — A man was seriously injured in a major crash on Saturday morning, December 5, 2015.

At approximately 6 a.m., the Forney Fire Department and police department responded to a crash at the intersection of Pinson Road and the north service road loop for a truck which struck a signal light pole.

Firefighters worked for an hour to extricate the man before transporting him via CareFlite medical helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. The man was in serious condition at the time of transport, according to Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend.

The CareFlite helicopter landed in the middle of the intersection to transport the man.
