KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — More than 2,000 people were without power in Kaufman County following severe thunderstorms Saturday night.
A majority of the outages are in the Mabank area with three outages affecting approximately 2,113 Oncor customers as of 9:45 p.m. Three outages in Forney are affecting approximately 199 customers, 72 are without power in Crandall, 17 in the Kemp area, and nine in the Terrell area.
Crews area assessing the outages in the Mabank area and have not provided an estimated restoration time. Forney, Crandall, Kemp, and Kaufman area power restoration is estimated to be restored around midnight, according to Oncor’s storm center.
Several minor accidents were also reported county wide due to vehicles leaving the roadway or spinning on wet surfaces. A large tree fell into the road on North Francis in Terrell and was struck by a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Readers also reported hail in Forney, Talty, and the Mabank areas.
Kaufman County remains under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 10:15 p.m. and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 a.m. Sunday.
