KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — More than 4,000 customers are without power early Monday morning in Kaufman County due to severe thunderstorms which swept through the area.
Approximately 4,200 customers were without power throughout Kaufman County, according to Oncor’s storm center website. Just over 3,000 customers in Forney were affected by the outages. inForney.com readers reported outages in downtown Forney south of the railroad tracks, McKellar Home Place, Trails of Chestnut Meadows, and in Windmill Farms.
Approximately 1,100 were affected by the outages in Oak Ridge which is along State Highway 34 between Terrell and Kaufman, 30 in Terrell, and less than 10 in Kaufman, Texas.
At 4:40 a.m., Oncor crews were repairing a downed power line near Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 in Forney, Texas, and estimated a 20 minute repair.
Oncor’s website shows an estimated restoration time for Kaufman at 5:30 a.m., Terrell at 7 a.m., and are currently assessing the condition of the outage in Oak Ridge.
High winds caused damage to trees in Terrell in areas near Jackson Street, High Street, Rockwall Avenue, and Virginia Street, according to the Kaufman County Office of Emergency Management.
