FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department responded to a large brush fire Monday afternoon and immediately requested assistance from the Crandall and Terrell Fire Departments.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department responded to a large brush fire Monday afternoon and immediately requested assistance from the Crandall and Terrell Fire Departments.
The fire was reported just before 3 p.m. west of Farm-to-Market (FM) 740, also known as Bois D’Arc, south of Dalview Road, and across from Warren Middle School. Firefighters fought the fire in thick brush and grass behind a row of homes on FM 740 and Dalview Drive.
The fire began as a controlled burn and ultimately burned approximately 10 acres, according to Forney Fire Department Captain Phillip Pyle. The fire was contained to the property it began on.
A bulldozer also caught on fire while being operated by the property owner who was assisting firefighters in extinguishing the fire. That fire was extinguished and the bulldozer continued assisting.
No injuries or other property damage were reported.
