FORNEY, Texas — Several area fire departments are fighting a large fire behind the Forney Fence Supply on U.S. Highway 80.
Just after 3 p.m., the fire was reported behind the business and was reportedly burning old fence supply materials, thick brush, and trees.
At 4:15 p.m., Forney Fire Department Fire Marshal John Holcomb said the fire had been contained and originated as an illegal burn.
Mutual aid was requested from the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, Crandall Fire Department Heath Fire Department, and Mesquite Fire Department.
