FORNEY, Texas — Under heavy fog Tuesday morning, multiple accidents slowed traffic in both directions on U.S. Highway 80 near FM 460.
FORNEY, Texas — Under heavy fog Tuesday morning, multiple accidents slowed traffic in both directions on U.S. Highway 80 near FM 460.
Just before 9 a.m., an SUV struck and went through the cable median on U.S. Highway 80 just west of the FM 460 overpass. The SUV stopped near the bridge’s column in the median. This accident caused the left lane of both eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 80 to be closed. An East Texas Medical Center ambulance transported the driver of the vehicle to a Rockwall, Texas, hospital.
At approximately 9:10 a.m., less than 100 yards from the initial accident, an 18-wheeler struck and went through the cable median. No injuries were reported in this accident.
The Forney Fire Department and police department responded to the accidents. A wrecker removed the first vehicle and the 18-wheeler was able to drive out of the median.
