KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth issued a Heat Advisory for much of north Texas, including Kaufman County, from 1 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth issued a Heat Advisory for much of north Texas, including Kaufman County, from 1 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014, until 7 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014.

The NWS predicts temperatures well above normal with highs ranging between 98 and 104 degrees with heat index values between 105 and 109 degrees.

There is a 20 percent chance for afternoon showers today for Kaufman County. The primary concerns for these storms are damaging winds, locally heavy rainfall, and lightning.

The Heat Advisory is also in effect for the following counties: Montague; Cooke; Grayson; Fannin; Lamar; Wise; Denton; Collin; Hunt; Delta; Hopkins; Parker; Rockwall; Van Zandt; Rains; Hood; Somervell; Johnson; Ellis; Henderson; Bosque; Hill; Navarro; Freestone; Anderson; Bell; Corywell; McLennan; Falls; Limestone; Leon; Milam; and Robertson.
