FORNEY, Texas — A new recycling schedule for City of Forney trash service customers will begin on March 2, 2016, and new recycling carts will be delivered by Community Waste Disposal (CWD) beginning today, Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
CWD will begin delivering new 95-gallon recycling carts between Wednesday and Friday, according to City of Forney representative Kyle Rouvaldt.
“It is in conjunction with the delivery of these new blue recycling carts that the City and CWD will introduce a new bi-monthly recycling pick-up schedule designed to better serve residents,” stated Rouvaldt.
The new recycling schedule will begin March 2 and will split the city into two separate recycling zones with alternating weekly pickups.
Zone A, which is all customers north of U.S. Highway 80, will begin recycling pickup on March 2, 2016, and will continue every other week. Zone B, which is all customers south of U.S. Highway 80, will begin recycling pickup on March 9, 2016, and will continue every other week.
“When delivered, the new recycling carts will have new program information and a schedule attached to the carts,” stated Rouvaldt.
Residents have the option of keeping the old green recycling bins at no costs or can dispose of them by placing them at the curb or inside the new recycling cart.
