FORNEY, Texas — No injuries were reported after an SUV overturned on the U.S. Highway 80 service road and onto the highway's shoulder below.
The Forney Fire Department, Forney Police Department, a CareFlite ambulance, and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 1:15 p.m.
An SUV traveling westbound on the service road approaching the County Road 212/217 overpass overturned several times down the bridge’s approach and struck a tree in the median between the westbound lanes of the highway and the service road, according to officials.
The right lane of the highway was closed while emergency personnel were on scene.
The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was observed by EMS and did not request transport to a hospital.
A wrecker cleared the vehicle at 1:48 p.m.
