KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – No major injuries were reported following a rollover accident on eastbound I-20 involving a pickup truck.
Fire officials believe the truck, a black Ford F-150, was traveling westbound when it crossed the center median, rolled several times across two eastbound I-20 lanes, and came to a rest on its roof on the south side of I-20.
The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:25 p.m. The accident occurred between Wilson Road, exit 503, and Farm-to-Market (FM) 429, exit 506.
The driver of the truck was in “great shape” considering the extent of the damage to the truck, according to Terrell Volunteer Fire Department Chief Donald Lindsey. The driver was transported by an East Texas Medical Center ambulance to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with non-life threatening injuries.
A truck in the eastbound lanes was also involved in the accident, according to Lindsey. No injuries were reported from that vehicle.
All fire personnel cleared the accident scene at approximately 5:10 p.m. and the eastbound traffic began to dissipate. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the cause of the accident.
