A six-inch clay pipe water main ruptured, likely due to age and expanding soil conditions, according to City of Forney Public Works Director Chris Metz.
A water valve at the intersection of Woodcrest Way and York Street was turned off at approximately 9:15 a.m. and could possibly affect residents on Woodcrest Way and a couple on York Street.
The repairs are expected to take four hours after the underground utility marking company marks buried utility lines to allow the repair crew to begin digging near the break.
