One airlifted following motorcycle crash on Interstate 20

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — One person was flown to a Dallas-area hospital following a motorcycle crash on eastbound Interstate 20 on Monday night which resulted in a highway closure.

KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — One person was flown to a Dallas-area hospital following a motorcycle crash on eastbound Interstate 20 on Monday night which resulted in a highway closure.

The wreck was reported at 10 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 20 near mile marker 512 and the Kaufman-Van Zandt County line. Both eastbound lanes were initially closed with the left lane reopening at 11:15 p.m. and both lanes reopened just before midnight.

A CareFlite helicopter landed on the highway and later transported the motorcycle driver to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, in critical condition.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash. The Elmo Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the crash.
