KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A man was flown to a Dallas-area hospital from a head-on collision on State Highway (SH) 205 on Thursday night where three others were also injured.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A man was flown to a Dallas-area hospital from a head-on collision on State Highway (SH) 205 on Thursday night where three others were also injured.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash on SH 205 near County Road 243. According to Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on scene, a truck had crossed the center line to avoid a wrecker removing a vehicle on the side of the road and struck another truck head on.
The driver of one of the trucks became entrapped and required extrication by firefighters. He was later flown to a Dallas-area hospital by a CareFlite medical helicopter with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. Another passenger in his vehicle was also transported to the hospital by a CareFlite ambulance.
A father and three-year-old child were injured in the other truck. Both were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on scene also wanted to extend their appreciation for an unidentified woman, who was wearing scrubs, that stopped to render aid and comforted the three-year-old who was injured in the crash.
SH 205 was closed while emergency personnel were on scene and was reopened just before 10 p.m.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
