FORNEY, Texas — One person was injured after striking a bridge guardrail and overturning on the U.S. Highway 80 south service road in Forney on Saturday morning.
The wreck was reported just before 2 a.m. on the south service road near the eastbound U.S. Highway 80 onramp at Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.
An SUV was traveling westbound on the south service road when it struck the bridge guardrail before the onramp, overturned, and came to a rest on its side on the westbound lane of the service road.
The driver of the SUV was located just over half a mile from the wreck walking eastbound on the south service road near the Broad Street exit and was transported to Lake Pointe hospital in Forney by CareFlite ambulance with what were described as minor injuries.
In a separate incident at the same time, an ATV was off-roading along the Buffalo Creek when it overturned near the south service road approximately half a mile east of the rollover crash. No injuries were reported in this crash.
