DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — Emergency officials have located a small plane which crashed in southeastern Dallas County after nearly an hour search. Authorities have now confirmed one person, the pilot, has died as a result of the crash.
DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — Emergency officials have located a small plane which crashed in southeastern Dallas County after nearly an hour search. Authorities have now confirmed one person, the pilot, has died as a result of the crash.
The plane was located just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday night near several structures, including a house, in the 1600 block of Bent Tree Road — which is south east of Seagoville, Texas.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Elizabeth Cory told inForney.com the plane, described as a Beech Bonanza, was attempting to land at Mesquite Metro Airport when air traffic controllers lost radar and radio contact with the aircraft at approximately 6:17 p.m. The FAA, texas Department of Public Safety, and the National Transportation Safety Borad are investigating the crash.
A neighbor told inForney.com they witnessed the plane flying low just prior to hearing it crash but did not see its exact location.
