FORNEY, Texas — One person was transported to a Dallas hospital after a 4-wheeler was struck by a car on Farm-to-Market (FM) Wednesday afternoon.
The male driver of the 4-wheeler was seen driving southbound on FM 1641 near Monitor Boulevard at approximately 6 p.m. by one witness speaking to inForney.com. The accident occurred approximately half-a-mile down the road on FM 1641 in front of Henderson Elementary when the 4-wheeler was struck by a vehicle in the middle of the road.
Several witnesses stated the driver of the 4-wheeler was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, by an East Texas Medical Center ambulance.
Another patient at the scene refused transportation by ambulance and was taken by a private vehicle.
The Forney Fire Department and police department also responded to the accident.
Traffic was diverted in the area for approximately 45 minutes while emergency personnel were on scene. The vehicle that struck the 4-wheeler was taken by a wrecker.
