FORNEY, Texas – Five cars were involved in a chain-reaction accident earlier today on westbound U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.
FORNEY, Texas – Five cars were involved in a chain-reaction accident earlier today on westbound U.S. Highway 80 near Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. A blue sedan was rear-ended by a truck hauling a tractor on a flatbed trailer in the left lane of the highway. After the initial accident, a white sedan slammed into the back of the trailer – sending its driver to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
A truck pulling a car with a tow strap was also involved and the car being towed rear-ended the truck. These two vehicles stopped in the right shoulder.
A single lane of U.S. Highway 80 remained open during the accident, only minor traffic delays were visible. The blue sedan, truck and trailer, and the truck towing the car were all able to drive away from the accident. The white sedan was hauled away by a wrecker and sustained major front-end damage as well as rear-end damage.
