FORNEY, Texas – One person was transported after a vehicle accident with an 18-wheeler on I-20 Sunday afternoon, August 24, 2014.
The Forney Fire Department was called to the accident near Helms Trail just before 6 p.m. The 18-wheeler only sustained damage to the rear end of its trailer. The vehicle, a passenger car, sustained major damage to the front and roof of the vehicle.
All of the vehicle's occupants appeared to be out of the vehicle following the accident. One person was taken by an East Texas Medical Center ambulance to Texas Regional Medical Center in Sunnyvale, Texas, and at least one other person was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene. DPS will handle the accident investigation.
